Previously, we have introduced the tutorial for Xiaomi Mi5 Official Android 7.1 Nougat Lineage OS 14.1 ROM and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Android7.0 Global Beta ROM Based on MIUI 8. Today there is other good news about Xiaomi MI3 and Xiaomi MI4 for upgrading Android 7.1.1 ROM download and tutorial. We believe those users will be very excited to experience it first. By the way, it’s not the official Android Nougat 7.1.1 ROM for Xiaomi Mi 3/4, but made by Mr.Ivan, an experienced developer.
The Android AOSP ROM features all native features that are available on Android Nougat 7.1.1, but we have no idea about when Xiaomi officially released their ROM to upgrade mi phones to Android7.1.1 Nougat. So we can try the unofficial one first. By the way, please do it with much experience. We are not responsible for any kind of damages.
Pre-requisite:
Bootloader unlocked device.

Enabled USB debugging. To do this Go to Settings->Developer options
At least 70% charged phone.

Here is the step by step guideline to install Android Nougat on Mi 3/4:
Step 1: Put the downloaded ROM into device internal storage [Do not inside any folder].
Step 2: Now boot the device into TWRP recovery mode. Hold and press Volume Down+ Power Button at the same time to enter info TWRP recovery mode.
Step 3: Before proceed to flash process do a backup of your current ROM. So, that you can go back to your stock ROM if you don’t like the custom ROM. Tap on “Backup” and TWRP main menu and swipe right to perform a backup.
Step 4: Go back on TWRP main menu. Then tap on “Wipe” and swipe right to prepare your device for new ROM installation.
Step 5: Return to recovery main menu window and click on “Install”. Now navigate to the downloaded ROM file and choose it. After selecting the ROM swipe the blue button to the right to start installing.
The whole process can take up to 5-10 minutes. Once the installation is finished then reboot your device. The first boot will take more time than a normal boot.
Now you have successfully installed Android Nougat 7.1.1 on your Xiaomi Mi 3/4.
