Xiaomi has confirmed to release its next model, Xiaomi MI5X and new OS, MIUI 9 OS on July 26, currently MIUI 9 has already started to apply for beta test, Xiaomi MI6 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X Snapdragon version will be the first batch to get MIUI 9 beta test, as for other models, you need to wait for a while.
According to official beta test application list, it includes Xiaomi MI2/2S, and other phones released in two or three years which can upgrade to MIUI 9 OS. Today a media on Weibo @Qu Yang has leaked the news that the second batch to be compatible with MIUI 9 OS has been confirmed, currently we know there are three versions, one of them is Xiaomi MI Note 2, as its only curved screen smartphone, Xiaomi MI Note 2 has also listed a RAM 6GB ROM 64GB version, so it is normal that MI Note 2 will use MIUI 9 OS.
Besides Xiaomi MI Note 2, there are two second batch compatible with MIUI 9 OS, they are Xiaomi MI MIX and Xiaomi MI5, which are both flagship phones, especially Xiaomi MI MIX, which is the most expensive smartphone for Xiaomi, but from last year to this year, there are not only this three flagship smartphones, such as others like Xiaomi MI5S Plus which is not in the list to update MIUI 9 OS.
MIUI 9 OS aims at stability, fluency, power saving, besides three new themes, they have simplified parts of functions, meanwhile, it has added notification blocked and split screen function.
