The newly announced Redmi Note 5 Pro is the most powerful Redmi Note series smartphone from Xiaomi that has been launched in India. One of its major competitors is the Honor 7X smartphone. Here is a comparison between the two phones on the basis of their specs, features and pricing.
Design and Display
The Redmi Note 5 and Honor 7X respectively feature 5.99-inch and 5.93-inch IPS LCD display that supports FHD+ resolution. Both the smartphones feature metal unibody design. The Note 5 Pro comes in colors like Blac, Gold, Rose Gold and Blue while the Honor 7X can be availed in colors like Blue, Gold and Black.
Chipset, RAM and Battery
The Redmi Note 5 Pro is the first phone to be fueled by Snapdragon 636. It seems to be more powerful than and power efficient than the Kirin 659 that fuels the Honor 7X. However, there is no concrete evidence to prove it.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro variants include 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. The Honor 7X variants include 4 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. Both the phones come with hybrid dual SIM slot for adding microSD card. The Note 5 Pro has a larger battery of 4,000mAh whereas the Honor 7X has a 3,340mAh battery.
Camera, Software and Pricing
The Redmi Note 5 Pro excels in the camera depart as it features 20-megapixel Selfie-LED front-facing camera against 8-megapixel front camera of Honor 7X. The rear side of Note 5 Pro features 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup whereas the Honor 7X features 16-megpaixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup. Both phones are running on Android 7.0 Nougat that are customized with their respective UI.
The two variants Redmi Note 5 Pro are priced at $220 and $266. On the other side, the two variants of Honor 7X cost around $205 and $250.
