British American Tobacco (BAT) is expanding its long-term technology partnership with ITC Infotech as the tobacco company accelerates its digital transformation, with artificial intelligence, technology capability development and operational efficiency becoming central priorities.
According to an announcement from ITC Infotech on August 12, 2026, the companies have expanded their multi-year strategic technology agreement to provide technology services for BAT in Poland, Romania and India. The partnership will also support BAT’s technology centers in Malaysia and Mexico and further develop the company’s newly established Future Capabilities Centre in India.
The financial value and specific duration of the expanded agreement have not been disclosed.
AI Becomes a Key Focus of the Partnership
The expanded partnership is designed to support BAT’s broader transformation of its global technology organization.

On June 29, 2026, BAT said it was expanding its partnership with ITC Infotech and transitioning certain Information, Digital and Technology (IDT) roles in Poland and Romania to the technology services provider.
At the same time, BAT and ITC Infotech are working together to develop BAT’s new Future Capabilities Centre in India while supporting existing technology centers in Malaysia and Mexico.
The objective is to strengthen digital capabilities, innovation and agility across BAT’s technology organization.
Under the expanded agreement, ITC Infotech will therefore have responsibilities spanning multiple regions, including Poland, Romania and India, while contributing to technology capability centers in India, Malaysia and Mexico.

The technology partnership is also connected to BAT’s wider Fit2Win transformation program.
