FCC Confirms Snapdragon 636 Aboard the Motorola Moto Z3 Play With 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM


The fresh details of the Motorola Moto Z3 Play have surfaced today. After leakage of the documents sent to the FCC commission, we have reached the important data on the internal memory and RAM capacity of Moto Z3 Play.

This device will have the model XT1929-4 in North America, XT1929-6 in Latin America and XT1929-5 in Brazil. The European and Middle East versions will be codenamed XT1929-8

It should be noted that the US version should have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and the Canadian version 4GB and 32GB of storage. Already the versions for Brazil, Mexico, and Latin America will have all 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The same goes for Europe and the Middle East.

Another page of the document shows that the Moto Z3 Play will use the Snapdragon 636 processor or a Snapdragon 660 (SDR660) At the same time, the content of this page also refers to support NFC and dual-band Wifi.

In the meantime, the final page lists the supported bands for each region.

The presence of the Snapdragon 636 on board is great news for lovers of balanced performance. In 2017, Moto Z2 Play arrived with the Snapdragon 626, a chip that ended up not being hugely popular with the more common 625. Snapdragon 636 is technically the Moto Z3 Play segment since it is a successor to Snapdragon 630. Face to this highly regarded chip, the 636 promises improved performance by 40% and optimized support for 18: 9 screens.

The Snapdragon 636 is highly optimized with eight custom Kryo 260 cores based on the Cortex-A53 and common with the powerful Snapdragon 660. The chip is manufactured in a cost-effective 14nm process and also includes Bluetooth 5.0 and a Snapdragon modem X12 LTE.
