Huawei‘s new generation flagship processor Kirin 980 will be officially released. Whether it is pollen or not, I believe that everyone is full of expectations for this SoC that represents the top technology in the country.
At noon today, Huawei’s official Weibo officially warmed up the Kirin 980 with a picture, and accompanied by four simple and concise characters: “Singularity is coming”, which means that Huawei has great confidence in Kirin 980. In the past warm-up, Huawei did not disclose much information about the Kirin 980. The currently known information is that it will be manufactured using the 7nm process, and the specifications are still unknown.
Rumor has it that the Kirin 980 will use ARM’s latest Cortex-A76 architecture, and the GPU is likely to be the latest Mali-G76. The NPU will naturally upgrade to the latest version, but this has not been officially confirmed. Waiting for the official to reveal the answer tomorrow night. As for running points, there is currently no running point on the network about Kirin 980. In contrast, the current performance of Kirin 960 in Ann Bunny v7 is about 160,000 points, while the average score of Kirin 970 can be close to 210,000 points. The currently recognized flagship benchmark Snapdragon 845 can average more than 270,000 points in Antutu v7.
On the GPU side, the GPU of the Kirin 980 may be the Mali-G76. If this GPU is optimized, the performance will exceed that of the Qualcomm Adreno 630. It is said that it will also collaborate with the second-generation GPU Turbo technology, pre-provisioning resources, and can achieve a three-fold improvement in graphics performance. And in GPU Turbo (through 60% performance growth through hardware and software co-processing, and 30% power reduction), the game performance should be even better.
