KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, which has its supply chain resources in Apple’s Asia, has questioned the reputation of the 2nd-generation iPhone SE to be launched in the 2nd quarter of 2018. Kuo believes that Apple does not have enough free development resources to be able to focus enough on new iPhones. This should mainly concern 3 new models already under preparation. It is a second-generation iPhone X with a “very different” internal design, a larger 6.5 inch iPhone X Plus version supported the new Apple Pencil and last but not least a 6.1-inch lower price iPhone, Face ID and LCD screen.
Kuo, in his research report, MacRumors, literally writes: “It is likely that the delay of iPhone X, which had so far the most complicated design, shows that Apple does not have enough resources to develop. We believe that with three new one’s models that are ready for the second half of 2018, Apple may have exhausted all of its development resources. At the same time, we think the company will do everything in its power to avoid repeating an error by delaying sending three new models. However, it is unlikely that Apple will have enough spare resources to develop a new iPhone that could be launched in 2018. “
If Apple’s plan is actually the so-called iPhone SE 2, Kuo expects to have little change in the body design of the phone. iPhone SE 2 is a smartphone that is very much awaited by many people. Recently, there have been rumors that the debut may take place in May or June. Meanwhile, information about a possible premiere in March appeared in an authentic Chinese website. If this is true, it would mean a debut in two years after the predecessor’s offer was introduced.
Apple would also allegedly present new tablets. We know that iPad Pro with a TrueDepth camera and Face ID is in preparation. The premieres of this device, however, personally I would not expect earlier than at WWDC 2018, as not later, only in the 2nd half of the year.
iPhone SE 2, if it exists at all, it will not make too many changes to its predecessor. Yes, there will be a better processor and it’s supposed to be Apple A10 Fusion, which is in the iPhone 7 and improved cameras. Many of the features that appeared in last year’s phone models, however, do not count. Face ID, TrueDepth camera or wireless battery charging. These are solutions that will not appear in the new iPhone SE. Though there were such rumors.

Apple has not come up with any innovations of the iPhone SE since its launch in March 2016. Only in March of last year, it doubled the available capacity of the model to 64GB and 128GB.
