MIUI Development Mode is Upgraded: User Experience of Each Version Changes

Xiaomi officially released the “MIUI System Version Adjustment Announcement”, saying that MIUI has released a total of 545 development versions in the past 12 years. In order to bring you a better user experience, Xiaomi will upgrade the MIUI development mode:

The MIUI development version will continue to be updated weekly, and the official version will be updated based on user usage. We will test new features through the development version, collect user feedback, and work with users to make MIUI better. These results will eventually pass the official version and be officially released to all users.

The development version and the official version will gradually realize switching between versions without clearing data.

The MIUI development mode is upgraded, the user experience of each version changes as follows:

• Users who currently use the MIUI development version for internal testing will automatically switch to the new “development version” after receiving the MIUI based on Android 13 and upgrading, without clearing data;
• Users who currently use the MIUI development version of the public beta will automatically switch to the new “development version” after upgrading to the Android 13-based development version without clearing data;
• Users who currently use the stable version of MIUI will automatically switch to the “official version” after receiving the MIUI based on Android 13 and upgrading, without clearing data.

Xiaomi said that new features and optimizations will be released as a development version first, and the product experience will be updated iteratively, with reliable functions and stability, and then released as an official version. The new development version will recruit more users who actively participate in the co-construction, and the internal test score will also be adjusted with the development version to join the Xiaomi community growth system. Xiaomi will issue the “Development Edition Internal Beta Commemorative Virtual Medal” to users who have always supported MI UI.
