Igeekphone News, June 11th: Blogger @Digital Chat Station released some leaks about the Apple iPhone 17 series at noon today: It has been confirmed that all models in the series have a high refresh rate. The A19 Pro, which made its debut simultaneously, also has a “very high” performance setting. The GeekBench 6 single-core is estimated to be over 4,000, and the multi-core is estimated to be over 10,000. For comparison, the A18 Pro has a single-core performance of over 3500 and a multi-core performance of over 9000.
It has been previously reported that the screen of the standard version of iPhone 17 will be upgraded from 6.12 inches to 6.27 inches, which is comparable to the screen size of the current iPhone 16 Pro. The four models of Apple’s iPhone 17 series (Igeekphone Note: Standard Edition/Air/Pro/Max) will all support a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate and be equipped with a 24-megapixel front camera and a more powerful A19 chip.
A report by Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International Securities, last year showed that The A19 chip equipped in Apple’s next-generation iPhone 17 / Air and the A19 Pro chip equipped in iPhone 17 Pro/Max will both be manufactured based on TSMC’s latest third-generation 3nm process “N3P”.
But in the research report he released last month, he also said that Apple’s lowest-end iPhone 17 model this year will adopt the same A18 chip as the base model of iPhone 16, still based on TSMC’s second-generation 3-nanometer process (N3E), which is different from the information several months ago.
The ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air/Slim is expected to be equipped with the A19 chip, while the iPhone 17 Pro series will adopt the A19 Pro chip. Both of these two chips are planned to be manufactured using TSMC’s third-generation 3-nanometer process (N3P).
Based on the available information, the basic model of iPhone 17 has a limited upgrade compared to iPhone 16. The appearance designs of the two are basically the same. The rumored main upgrades include: the display refresh rate is increased from 60Hz to 120Hz, and the front camera is upgraded from 12MP to 24MP.
