The Samsung Exynos 1080 processor is jointly developed by Samsung and Vivo, with the theme of “a new generation, flagship experience”, which will be the first application on Vivo Smartphones. According to the update rule of the Vivo mobile phone product line, if nothing else, the next Vivo X60 series to be released is likely to be the first to be equipped with Samsung Exynos 1080 processor.

At the press conference, CY Lee, the Vice president of marketing at Samsung Semiconductor S.LSI said that in order to be more in line with the trend of mobile life, mobile phone chips have become critical to the support of 5G, smart cameras, and device built-in AI technology.
According to reports, Samsung Exynos 1080 is a mobile processor specifically designed for the Chinese market, using a 5nm process technology, with flagship-level performance and lower power consumption. At the same time, this mobile processor uses ARM’s latest CPU architecture Cortex-A78, and the latest GPU architecture Mali-G78.
Samsung Exynos 1080 uses an 8-core design in the CPU part, of which the highest-performance 2.8 GHz large core and the other three high-performance mid-cores use the Cortex-A78 architecture, which increases single-core performance by 50% and multi-core performance by nearly Two times; the GPU part integrates the Mali-G78 GPU core, and the overall performance is improved by 2.3 times.
In addition, Samsung Exynos 1080 exclusively developed the Amigo power distribution solution, which can monitor the power consumption of each process in real-time, optimize the total power consumption during the game, and increase the power efficiency by 10%, making the high-performance gaming experience more durable.

Samsung Exynos 1080 integrates artificial intelligence technology into the ISP. The high-performance ISP supports up to 200MP and 6 cameras; supports native 10-bit color 4K UHD video recording and playback, and direct HDR10+ Video editing function.
Besides, the Samsung Exynos 1080 also supports WiFi 6 technology, Bluetooth 5.2, supports four-channel LPDDR4/5 memory, 1080P 144Hz refresh rate, 1080P HDR10+ video, 10-bit 4K video recording.
