Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra Appears on Geekbench with MediaTek Dimensity 9500, Launch Expected in September

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has reportedly surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, providing new insights into the tablet’s hardware ahead of its expected debut later this year. The listing suggests that Samsung may once again partner with MediaTek for its flagship Android tablet, with the device likely powered by the company’s next-generation Dimensity 9500 chipset.

Although Samsung has yet to officially announce the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, the latest benchmark results offer one of the clearest indications yet of the tablet’s internal specifications.

Geekbench Listing Points to Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra

A device carrying the model number SM-X946B recently appeared in the Geekbench database. While the benchmark entry does not explicitly identify the product name, the model number closely follows the SM-X936B used by the previous-generation Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, strongly suggesting that the new listing belongs to the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra.

    The benchmarked device achieved:

    • Single-core score: 2,424
    • Multi-core score: 8,446

These results represent a modest performance improvement over the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, reflecting the expected gains from a newer chipset.

    MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Expected

The Geekbench listing reveals a CPU configuration consisting of:

    • One ultra-performance core
    • Three performance cores
    • Four efficiency cores

The processor’s prime core is clocked at 4.21GHz, while the efficiency cores operate at 2.7GHz. This architecture closely matches previously leaked specifications for MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 flagship processor, making it the most likely chipset powering the new tablet.

Earlier industry reports had already suggested that Samsung would equip the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra with the Dimensity 9500, and the latest benchmark further strengthens that expectation.

12GB RAM Confirmed, Larger Memory Option Expected

The Geekbench listing shows the tested device equipped with 12GB of RAM, matching the entry-level memory configuration offered by the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.

Samsung is also expected to introduce a 16GB RAM variant following its established strategy for Ultra-branded flagship devices, providing additional performance for demanding productivity and creative workloads.

    Familiar Design with Minor Refinements

Recent leaked renders indicate that Samsung is taking an iterative approach to the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra’s design.

According to current reports, the tablet will retain several design elements from its predecessor, including:

    • A slim metal chassis with flat edges
    • Ultra-thin display bezels
    • Dual rear cameras
    • A rear magnetic connector for the optional keyboard cover
    • The distinctive display notch housing the front-facing camera system

The tablet is rumored to measure approximately 326.3 × 208.5 × 5.1 mm, making it nearly identical in size to the current Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.

Large AMOLED Display and Long Battery Life

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to continue featuring Samsung’s premium display technology with a:

    • 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display
    • High refresh rate (expected)
    • HDR support

Powering the tablet is reportedly an 11,600mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging, providing extended battery life for productivity, entertainment, and creative applications.

    Camera System

While tablets are rarely purchased primarily for photography, Samsung is expected to maintain a capable camera setup that includes:

    Rear cameras:

    • 13MP primary camera
    • 8MP ultra-wide camera

    Front camera:

    • 12MP selfie camera

The front-facing camera is expected to continue supporting high-quality video conferencing and content creation.

Android 17 and Seven Years of Software Support

On the software side, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is rumored to launch with One UI 9, based on Android 17.

Samsung is also expected to continue its industry-leading software support policy by offering:

    • Seven generations of Android OS upgrades
    • Seven years of security updates

This extended update commitment remains one of Samsung’s strongest advantages in the premium Android tablet market, helping ensure long-term usability and security.

    Expected Launch Timeline

If Samsung follows its traditional product release schedule, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to be unveiled around September, potentially alongside the rumored Galaxy S26 FE smartphone.

While Samsung has yet to confirm an official launch date, the appearance of the tablet in benchmark databases suggests development is progressing toward a public announcement in the coming months.

    Final Thoughts

Although the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra may not introduce a dramatic redesign, the combination of the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, Samsung’s premium 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, long software support, and refined hardware could make it one of the most powerful Android tablets available.

With benchmark results now emerging and multiple leaks aligning on key specifications, more official details—including pricing, availability, and the complete feature set—are expected as Samsung prepares for its next flagship product launch.
