A few weeks ago, the manufacturer Sharp presented what we called the most compact 6-inch smartphone on the market. Today a new version of the smartphone has been announced: this is the Sharp Aquos S3 High Edition. There are some small differences in the datasheet, but what does not change is the incredible optimization made by Sharp in terms of the display-body ratio of 91%.
From now on the overall dimensions of the smartphone have always been its best feature: 148.2 x 74.2 x 7.98 mm are measures from a smartphone of 5 / 5.2 inches in a 16: 9 ratio. Instead, by introducing an 18: 9 aspect ratio and the now inevitable notch, Sharp has created the smallest 6-inch smartphone on the market today.
But we also find these dimensions in the Sharp Aquos S3 “standard”, so what are the differences? Basically, the power on board changes. While on the Sharp Aquos S3 we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor combined with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage expandable via microSD, on Sharp Aquos S3 High Edition we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor combined with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, also in this case expandable through microSD.
The housing of this smartphone is made entirely of premium materials, in particular, aluminum and glass, and the terminal resists contact with water and dust. SHARP AQUOS S3 High Edition is a 4G / VoLTE compatible dual-sim (nano + nano / microSD) smartphone and features: 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS and NFC WiFi USB Type-C port and fingerprint sensor.
The remaining specifications are unchanged so in addition to the 6-inch display with an 18: 9 aspect ratio and Full HD resolution + 2160 × 1080 and is protected with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5, we find the dual 12MP + 13MP rear camera, the 16MP front camera, it has a 3200mAh battery with charging Quick Quick Charge 3.0 and the presence on board of Android 8.0 Oreo. SHARP AQUOS S3 High Edition will be available for sale on June 11, 2018, in Taiwan, and the terminal will be available for approximately $570.
