Igeekphone News July 3rd: Technology media majinbuofficial published a blog post yesterday (July 2nd), reporting that in addition to adjusting the position of the Apple LOGO on the back of the iPhone 17 Pro model, Apple also adjusted the magnetic ring layout of the MagSafe system as a result.
Igeekphone previously reported that for the iPhone 17 Pro model launched by Apple this year, due to the horizontal matrix design, Apple will adjust the position of the back cover LOGO to move it down to a position close to the center of the bottom, which also brings about an adjustment in the magnetic ring layout.
The MagSafe system has relied on precise magnetic arrays since the iPhone 12 to achieve alignment and accessory compatibility. As the Apple logo on the iPhone 17 Pro moves down, the magnetic array moves accordingly towards the center at the bottom.
In addition, the new MagSafe design reserves an opening in the middle of the bottom, mainly to highlight the repositioned Apple logo and prevent it from being blocked. This adjustment, in terms of appearance, is mainly an aesthetic change, and the alteration of the magnetic ring position may require fine-tuning of the magnetic field to prevent minor interference.
Initial feedback from manufacturers indicates that the existing MagSafe accessories will remain compatible, but the central opening is designed to enhance the visibility of the Apple LOGO, which is particularly evident on transparent phone cases.
Shell manufacturers have begun to respond to this change: many have started printing new MagSafe rings with a central opening to highlight the shifted logo. Apple is also developing similar solutions with a central opening, while shell manufacturers are creating new MagSafe accessories to showcase the aesthetic layout of the updated iPhone 17 Pro.
