The Chinese company UMIDIGI, as promised, introduced and launched its new smartphone model, the UMIDIGI S5 Pro. The novelty stands out by having a retractable front camera and a main 48MP quad-camera for a very affordable price tag. The phone will go on global sales in May. Processor
The UMIDIGI S5 Pro is based on the 12nm MediaTek Helio G90T processor with Mali-G76 MC4 graphics and a peak frequency of 2.05 GHz. At the moment, this is the most powerful mid-level single-chip system that is used in smartphones in the global market.
In terms of performance, it surpasses even the 8-nanometer SoC Snapdragon 730G. To cool the dust of the CPU, a liquid cooling system is provided, which extends the operating time of the smartphone at maximum power.
The mobile processor is paired with 6GB of RAM LPDDR4x, while the storage of personal data is allocated to users with built-in storage UFS 2.1 with a capacity of 256GB. The battery is responsible for the power with a capacity of 4680mAh with support for 18-watt fast charging by wire. The UMIDIGI S5 Pro also includes an NFC chip.
Screen and Camera
The UMIDIGI S5 Pro has a 6.39-inch notch FHD + AMOLED display that comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a pop-up selfie camera so no hole and no notch. By using a retractable front camera, the manufacturer was able to minimize the thickness of the frames around the display. The selfie camera is built on a 16MP image sensor.
In the upper left corner of the back, there is the main camera with four modules. The smartphone uses a 5MP matrix for blurring the background and macro photography. The resolution of the main module is 48MP, and wide-angle – 16MP. The viewing angle is 120 degrees. The manufacturer also claims improved software for the camera.
The UMIDIGI S5 Pro is available in two colors on the back: Ocean Blue and Cosmic Black. The backdrop itself is made of 3D glass with curved side edges. The smartphone weighs 202 grams and measures 159.2 x 75.7 x 9.6 mm. There are also USB-C, GPS and Bluetooth 5.0.
