vivo has officially launched its new X500 Pro series in China, introducing the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max as its latest flagship smartphones. The new lineup starts at 6,499 yuan and brings major upgrades in display technology, mobile photography, performance, and battery capacity.
The X500 Pro series is also among the first smartphones to feature MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9600 Pro flagship processor, while the Pro Max pushes the camera system further with a 200MP ZEISS APO super-telephoto camera.
vivo X500 Pro Series Display Specifications
The two models feature different display sizes. The vivo X500 Pro comes with a 6.36-inch screen, while the X500 Pro Max increases the size to 6.85 inches.
vivo has worked with BOE to introduce its new Q11 light-emitting material, with both phones supporting an adaptive 144Hz LTPO 8T refresh rate.
The displays can reach a hardware-level minimum brightness of 1 nit, which is designed to make nighttime viewing more comfortable. Other display features include adaptive dimming, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Circular Polarization 2.0, and SGS low-blue-light certification.
The X500 Pro Max goes further with a 2K ZEISS Master Color Display, making it the first model in the lineup to use this panel technology. It also introduces a high-sensitivity automatic brightness system supported by vivo’s own brightness adjustment algorithms.
Dimensity 9600 Pro Powers the New Flagships
A major hardware highlight is the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, which makes its global debut in the vivo X500 Pro series.
The new flagship chipset is paired with vivo’s imaging technologies to support the phones’ advanced photography capabilities. The company is positioning the platform as a major performance and imaging upgrade for its latest premium smartphones.
17-Stop Dynamic Range and New Main Camera Technology
Photography is one of the main focuses of the X500 Pro series.
The X500 Pro introduces vivo’s Blueprint LightGuard 900 sensor, which the company says achieves a 17-stop dynamic range for the first time.
The phones also feature a ZEISS super-dynamic main camera with an upgraded VCS 4.0 imaging system, ZEISS T* coating, and deep-absorption blue glass. These technologies are designed to improve light management and image quality in challenging shooting conditions.
The combination of the new sensor and vivo’s imaging algorithms is intended to preserve more detail between bright highlights and dark areas.
X500 Pro Max Gets a 200MP ZEISS APO Super-Telephoto
The vivo X500 Pro Max receives a more advanced telephoto system.
The new telephoto system further expands vivo’s focus on ZEISS smartphone photography, particularly for long-distance portraits and moving subjects.
It features a 200MP ZEISS APO super-telephoto camera built around a Blueprint x Samsung HP0 sensor. The sensor measures 1/1.4 inches and supports hardware-level 4x ISZ lossless zoom.
The camera is also designed for high-speed telephoto photography, allowing users to capture moving subjects at longer focal lengths.
vivo has introduced a dedicated long-range tracking technology through an OTA update, together with its own 60fps high-frame-rate imaging pipeline, Blueprint high-refresh autofocus engine, and NICE computational photography engine.
The X500 Pro Max also supports the ZEISS Telephoto Converter G2 Ultra, which provides an equivalent focal length of up to 400mm.
X500 Pro Uses ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera
The standard vivo X500 Pro also receives a ZEISS APO super-telephoto camera.
It uses a Blueprint x Sony LYTIA 610 sensor and offers an 85mm equivalent focal length, a range that is well suited to portraits and everyday telephoto photography.
This gives the Pro model a dedicated telephoto setup while keeping the overall device smaller than the Pro Max.
Large Batteries and 90W Charging
Battery capacity is another significant difference between the two models.
The vivo X500 Pro packs a 6,510mAh battery and supports 90W wired charging as well as 40W wireless charging.
The larger X500 Pro Max comes with an 8,000mAh battery, while retaining the same 90W wired and 40W wireless charging support.
The larger battery gives the Pro Max a substantial capacity advantage, particularly for users who frequently use high-refresh-rate displays, cameras, and demanding applications.

The new vivo X500 Pro series is available in four color options: Sunny Day, Sunset View, Night Capture, and Echoes of the Earth.
The lineup consists of the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max, with prices starting at 6,499 yuan in China.
