Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G and Mi 11 Lite Made Official at a Low Price

The Xiaomi Mega Launch was the opportunity for the Chinese manufacturer to reveal a plethora of new products, from the Mi 11 Ultra to the Mi 11, including the Mi 11 Pro, the Mi Band 6 bracelet, and the Mi Smart Projector 2. But not only, there are the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G and the Mi 11 Lite (with 4G connectivity), which have a thickness of only 6.81 mm and a weight of 159 grams, a fact that could concern us in the field of battery capacity, but that at Xiaomi reassures us: it has a 4250mAh battery, something surprising at this thickness.

To know more about these devices, let’s start with the similarities observed between these two variants. Their 6.55-inch flat screen takes advantage of AMOLED display technology, which will therefore provide an infinite contrast ratio. The refresh rate reaches 90Hz, compared to 120Hz on the classic Xiaomi Mi 11.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G and the Mi 11 Lite also benefit from the same battery capacity: 4250mAh, accompanied by a fast charge of 33W. Again, this Lite iteration makes a small concession by abandoning the 55W charge that the Mi 11 enjoys.

The rear camera module is much more discreet in these models, both in its size and in the characteristics of its sensors, which are still interesting. The main sensor is 64MP with a size of 1 / 1.97 inches, aperture f / 1.79, and pixel size of 1.4 microns.

Accompanying him we have an ultra-wide-angle of 8MP f / 2.2. The third sensor in contention is the 5MP macro with an f / 2.4 aperture and a pixel size of 1.12 microns.

Even more interesting than all of them is the 20MP front camera sensor of the 5G model, which is equipped with a 2x zoom mode. In the variant with 4G connectivity, that sensor has a somewhat lower resolution and is 16MP. In Xiaomi, they highlighted how many users of their mobiles use them as mirrors to put on makeup, and that zoom is certainly interesting in that situation.

So much for the similarities, now it’s time to play the differences. The Mi 11 Lite is slightly lighter with its 157 grams but less resistant to scratches with its Gorilla Glass 5 protective glass. In front, the Mi 11 Lite 5G weighs 159 grams and sports a Gorilla Glass 6 on the front. We can consider them here as featherweights, all accentuated by a beautiful fineness of 6.81 mm. Their handling should prove to be very pleasant.

Logically, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G and the Mi 11 Lite do not carry the same processor: the Snapdragon 732G for the Mi 11 Lite, against a Snapdragon 780G freshly unveiled on the Mi 11 Lite 5G, which will benefit from very good performance, but also and above all from the 5G thanks to a dedicated modem.

Another small difference: the Mi 11 Lite offers a 3.5mm jack, which its 5G counterpart does not have. The front camera also differs 16MP for the first-named, against 20MP for the second. In terms of RAM and storage configurations, small differences are also observed:

    • Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite: 6 + 64GB or 6 + 128GB
    • Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G: 6 + 128GB or 8 + 128GB

The Mi 11 Lite will be available in Boba Black, Peach Pink, Bubblegum Blue, while the Mi 11 Lite 5G is available in Truffle Black, Mint Green, Citrus Yellow. They will be launched at European prices of 299 (around $351) and 369 (about $434) euros respectively.
