Today Xiaomi MIUI Official announces they have started to do MIUI 9 Developer beta test for the third batch, until now most parts of Xiaomi smartphones and parts of Redmi smartphones can experience Xiaomi MIUI 9 OS.
The third batch to support MIUI 9 Developer version includes:
Xiaomi MI Note, Xiaomi MI4, Xiaomi MI3, Xiaomi MI3 TD version, MI2/2S, MI Pad 3, MI Pad 2, MI PAD 1, Redmi Pro, Redmi Note 4x-MTK, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 Advanced, Redmi 4 standard, Redmi 3S/3X, Redmi Note 3 netcom, Redmi note 3 TDD/FDD, Redmi Note 2, Redmi note 4 dual SIM card, Redmi Note TD 4G/ FDD 4G, Redmi Note TD version, Redmi Note WCDMA, Redmi 3, Redmi 2A standard/advanced, Redmi 1S, Redmi 1S TD 4G, Redmi 1S TD Version, Redmi 1S TD 4G, Redmi 1s WCDMA 3GB/CDMA 3G, Redmi 1 TD-SCDMA, and Redmi 1 CDMA.
According to Xiaomi MIUI official, these models install different Android versions, only those MIUI OS based on Android7.0/6.0 can support following features.
Split-screen
Split screen only support MIUI OS based on Android 7.x, other models need to wait.
Transmission door and information helper
They only support MIUI OS based on Android 7.x, Android 5.x/6.x OS is under development to be compatible.
Dynamic icon
Dynamic icon currently only support MIUI OS based on Android 6.x or over, Android 5.x and lower version can support dynamic icon. Their engineers are under trying, hope it will support.
Upgrading method
Currently, they have started to send MIUI 9 developer version third batch upgrading, those who have access to beta test can do ‘Settings’→’My device’→’MIUI version’ directly upgrade by OTA.
