On May 28 of this year, Redmi unveiled its first laptop, the RedmiBook 14. He attracted buyers due to the fact that he was presented as an inexpensive, productive version with a discrete video card, and today an even cheaper Core-i3 processor equipped version was announced.
At the official presentation, we were shown a RedmiBook with Core-i5 and Core-i7 processors. The third option appeared in the online store JD Mall comes with a more affordable Core-i3.
This is the 8th generation processor – i3-8145U, to which a pair of 4GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD-drive were installed. The price of the new option is only 800 yuan cheaper than the price of the version with Core-i5 – 3199 yuan (465).
Otherwise, there are no differences from older versions of RedmiBook 14. The same 14-inch matte Full HD screen with anti-reflective coating and frames on the sides 5.75 mm thick. The display occupies 81.2% of the panel reserved for it.
All-metal body with the use of sanding anodic processing technology turned out easy. Its weight is only 1.5 kg. There is a full-size keyboard with a key size of 17.95 mm, an HDMI port, two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0, a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
In addition, RedmiBook 14 supports Xiaomi Smart Unlock 2.0, an ultra low power standby mode, and when you connect to the Xiaomi Mi Band 3, waking up and unlocking occur in just 1.2 seconds. They promise up to 10 hours of battery life, professional sound effects DTS, a pre-installed version of Office Home and Student.
Sales of RedmiBook 14 with Core i3 have been announced for China only, the laptop is not yet sold outside the country. Previous versions: with Core-i7 and 512GB of storage, it is sold for 4999 yuan ($724), i5 with 512GB of storage – 4299 yuan ($623) and i5 with 256 GB of storage – 3999 yuan ($579).
