Today, ZTE officially release a post on Weibo which reveals, a ZTE Smartphone that can make calls, surf the Internet and send WeChat messages via the 5G network. As shown in the published post, ZTE Smartphone making a 5G call, 5G Internet access, 5G WeChat transceiver, which means that the 5G network passed the application scenario test.
It is reported that as early as April this year, ZTE successfully opened the first 5G based phone on 3GPP R15 standard in Guangzhou. At the end of October, ZTE’s mobile phone and data terminal dialed a telephone signal at the Shanghai R&D Center to formally complete the 5G call of the simulation system. Now ZTE mobile phone has realized 5G Internet access and 5G WeChat transmission and reception under the simulation system for the first time.
This is a new milestone for the 5G scale test. ZTE R&D personnel introduced that the 5G test conducted by ZTE has always been an end-to-end overall solution. In terms of 5G mobile phones, ZTE is conducting data service testing. It is expected that 5G multi-scenario R&D testing will be conducted in December this year. ZTE said that he will launch 5G Smartphones in the first half of 2019.
