Apple A19/A19 Pro is on the way: The iPhone 17 series makes its debut

Igeekphone reported on May 1st that it was revealed that the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air are equipped with the A19 chip, while the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are equipped with the A19 Pro chip.

Compared with the A18 and A18 Pro, the A19 series chips will adopt TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process N3P technology. At the same time, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and Dimensity 9500 are also manufactured using the N3P process.

Compared with the previous generation N3E process, N3P has seen a significant improvement in performance. Under the same power consumption, the performance of the N3P process has increased by 5%, while under the same performance, its power consumption has decreased by 5% to 10%. This enables mobile phone chips to provide better performance while maintaining low power consumption.

In addition, due to the higher transistor density brought by the N3P process, more transistors can be integrated within the same area, thereby further enhancing the functionality and performance of the chip. This is particularly important for smartphones that pursue high performance and low power consumption.

In addition, the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Air are equipped with 12GB of memory. Previously, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple was still hesitant about whether to offer 12GB to the standard version of the iPhone 17.

Ming-chi Kuo said that Apple will make the final decision after May. It is believed that it will be known in another month whether the standard version of iPhone 17 will have 8GB or 12GB of memory

As is customary, the iPhone 17 series will officially debut in September.
