On March 12th (Eastern Time in the United States), the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted marketing authorization to the product under its Glas G2 platform, and this product is equipped with age verification technology. This means, based on the current publicly available information, the FDA’s authorization this time is for the first electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS) product that has been confirmed to have such functionality.
In the message sent to 2Firsts, Kevin Higgins, the Chief Operating and Finance Officer of Glas Inc., stated that the product that received the marketing granted order (MGO) “is the Glas G2 device”, which is the platform previously mentioned in the interview with 2Firsts, and “indeed integrates advanced and verified age-gating and anti-counterfeiting identification technologies”.

This confirmation further validates the previous reports made by 2Firsts regarding this authorized product platform.
2Firsts reported on March 13th that the FDA has granted market authorization to a Glas device and a Blonde Tobacco e-liquid cartridge, increasing the total number of FDA-authorized ENDS products to 41. In a subsequent report released on March 14th, 2Firsts stated that the FDA has updated the names of the authorized products to “Glas G2”, and based on this, it is inferred that the device that received MGO is likely to be the Glas G2 platform that was previously introduced by Glas and has age verification technology.
