As scheduled, today it was the turn to present to the citizens of China the new Amazfit GTR 2 along with Amazfit GTS 2 that come under the company Huami, a reputed manufacturer of wearables that works for hand in hand with Xiaomi in the manufacture of the Mi Band. The new Amazfit GTR 2 is an interesting evolution of this smartwatch, which comes with a borderless screen, SpO2 oxygen measurement, more connectivity, and the possibility of playing music autonomously with its own speaker.
In detail, the Amazfit GTR 2 is available in both sports and classic versions: the latter is equipped with a leather strap and a slightly higher selling price. As for the design, the wearable maintains a circular display, a solution AMOLED da 1.39 ” with a maximum brightness of 450 nits.
In terms of materials, the sports version adopts a body in aluminum alloy and a silicone strap; the classic variant features the aforementioned leather strap but comes with a steel stainless. Also in this case the watchword is style, with delicate lines and a design that goes well with any occasion.
Huami’s new smartwatch integrates an optical sensor PPG with a form BioTracker second generation, which offers more efficient monitoring of cardiac activity. The monitoring of oxygen levels in the blood was present SpO2 via the sensor OxygenBeats.
it also improves sleep tracking, via the feature SomnusCare. The two features work together during sleep, in order to detect the quality of breathing and offer detailed data to the user.
Amazfit GTR 2 does not miss the usual mode athletic: currently has 12 but will reach 90 in the future. Present an advanced gyroscope, water-resistance up to 50 meters (5ATM), and the GPS / Glonass integrated. Unlike the predecessor, the new smartwatch integrates three speakers with Smart PA audio amplification.
There is no lack of support for voice assistant XiaoAI, which allows you to take advantage of voice commands (over 70) even offline. Obviously there is no lack of NFC, Bluetooth, the ability to view calls, messages, and app notifications.
Huami says that the 471mAh capacity battery allows a range of 14 days of normal use. If we put the watch in basic mode, that autonomy goes up to 38 days. However, GPS reduces it to 48 hours and Internet connectivity to just 10 hours. As always, you have to test it on a day-to-day basis to really see how accurate these figures are.
The price of Amazfit GTR 2 is 999 yuan for the model sports (around $148). As for the variant classical with the leather strap, this is offered at 1099 yuan (approx $162). At the moment Huami has not communicated details about the release outside of China but it is likely that details on the European release will arrive in the next few days.
