Best IOS Weather Apps To Help You Plan Your Day

Brady CottonBy Brady CottonOctober 5, 2020

Mobile apps can make our lives easier, from planning to fitness to weather apps. In today’s world, it’s important to have a reliable weather app that can help you plan your day and avoid getting stuck in the rain without an umbrella or worse.

However, not all weather apps offer the same functionalities and features. One app may be better at providing severe weather alerts and another may be better at planning.

With this in mind, we have put together a list of the best weather apps available on Apple devices to assist you in your daily routines.

    ClimaCell Weather Assistant

ClimaCell Weather Assistant is one of those apps that has a little bit of everything to help you with planning your day.

First of all, the app comes built-in with a neat activities feature, which allows you to select from an array of pre-downloaded activities, including sports, walking, video games, and more.

The app will then inform you of the acceptability of the weather conditions for these activities throughout the day, ranging from unacceptable to good. This feature is really helpful to individuals that often plan little last-minute activities.

    (App Store)

Secondly, the app also comes built-in with a hyper-local forecasting feature, which can narrow down your weather reporting to an area as small as a city block. This is a great feature if you want to drag out every second for what you are doing, but the activity is time-sensitive ie. kite flying.

Finally, you don’t have to worry about the accuracy of ClimaCell Weather Assistant’s reporting, as their Weather of Things (WoT) technology augments traditional weather data with data from connected devices such as aircraft, drones, and cell towers to ensure enhanced accuracy.

You can download ClimaCell Weather Assistant from the App Store.

    Radarscope

This is a great app for those who chase storms for a living (or a hobby, we’re not judging) and for those of you who live in areas that are predisposed to extreme weather.

This is because the app is solely based around weather maps, and these maps are filled to the brim with useful meteorological data that can inform you of developing weather patterns and their likely directions as they are happening.

Thankfully, these maps are also incredibly pleasant to look at and are easy to understand for their complexity.

    (Radarscope Blog)

The app also comes with the ability to track the estimated time of arrival for particular weather fronts, including storms with an accuracy of one hour. This is a great feature to help you plan your day, as it can let you know whether your commute is going to be safe, or whether you should keep your pets indoors because a thunderstorm is about to hit your location.

The app also makes use of mPing and local storm reports to ensure that reports generated by data actually match what is happening on the ground.

You can download Radarscope for free on the App Store, or try their paid versions to gain access to more features.

    The Weather Channel

The Weather Channel is one of the oldest weather apps available, but that doesn’t mean that it’s a dinosaur when it comes to features. Whilst it is true that the app is very simplistic and easy to use, this doesn’t mean that it is not an effective tool to help you plan your day.

For starters, the Weather Channel can provide you with both the current weather conditions, so you don’t even need to look out of the window to decide what clothes to wear and you can get the hourly forecast so you know what to expect throughout the day.

Furthermore, a built-in weather radar allows you to see how the weather patterns are actually going to impact your area before they happen.

    (NBC News)

The main selling point for the Weather Channel isn’t that it has swathes of complicated and weirdly named features, it is, in fact, the opposite.

The Weather Channel is a no-nonsense, easy to use, and pleasant to look at app that will still give you the information that you need to make informed decisions about your day.

You can get and try out Weather Channel on the App Store!

There you have it, three weather apps that you can start using today. Whether you’re interested in the local forecast, looking to plan a weekend getaway with perfect weather or needing to stay up-to-date with the latest extreme weather predictions, these apps can help you.
