In May, Google first launched its mid-range Pixel smartphone series, Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, which have had great critical and sales success. It seems that in 2020 Google will continue on this line by presenting the new Pixel 4a.
91mobiles in collaboration with @OnLeaks has created the first high definition renderings of the next Pixel 4a. The renders show that the device will feature a hole display, a single rear camera, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The renders reveal that the device will be the first in the Pixel range to present a display with a hole in the upper left corner to house the front camera, a display that will measure 5.7 inches or 5.8 inches, a small increase compared to 5.6 inches of the Pixel 3a. Above the display, we find the ear capsule and the bezels around the screen are not very small, but in any case, they are thinner than its predecessor.
Moving on to the rear, we find a matte finish and a square bump like the high-end Pixel 4 that will house the camera with a single sensor and an LED flash. According to @Onleaks, however, there will be multiple sensors housed inside the camera module, probably a 3D ToF sensor. Also on the back are the fingerprint sensor and the large “G” logo.
On the right edge, we find the volume rocker and an orange power button, while the left edge is clean. On the upper edge, there is the 3.5 mm audio jack, while the USB Type-C port and the speaker grilles are located at the bottom. Overall, the design shows that Pixel 4a will be smaller thanks to the narrower bezels than Pixel 3a, in fact, it will measure 144.2 x 69.5 x 8.2 mm.
There is still not much information regarding the technical specifications of the upcoming Pixel 4a and 4a XL, but the devices should have at least 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, together with an intermediate level chipset, probably from the Snapdragon 730 series. We will certainly find the now-classic 12.2 MP rear camera and perhaps also 5G support, even if we have some doubts about the latter since it is not present on Google’s high-end devices.
