Igeekphone News, April 15th: GoPro has released a brand new Mission 1 series of action cameras. It directly adopts a 1-inch large-sized film sensor and can shoot 8K/60P videos, completely breaking away from the previous limitations of the smaller film sensors in the Hero series.
This time there are three models: the standard version, the Pro version, and the Pro ILS version with interchangeable lenses. All models use a 50-megapixel one-inch sensor and are equipped with the new GP3 processor. Compared to the previous models, the sensor area is much larger, and both the low-light performance and image quality are much better.

The standard version can shoot at 8K/30P and 4K/120P. The Pro and ILS versions can directly reach the maximum resolution of 8K/60P. For 4K, it can even capture slow-motion at 240P. For 1080P, the highest resolution is up to 960P. It is fully sufficient for shooting fast-moving scenes.
It also features 10-bit color depth, 14 levels of dynamic range, a wide post-production color correction space, four microphones and 32-bit floating-point recording, ensuring stable audio recording.

The body is 20 meters waterproof, equipped with a 2.59-inch OLED screen, Enduro 2 battery, and can record 5 hours in 1080P format. It doesn’t require frequent battery replacements for long-duration shooting.
The most special feature is the ILS version, which is GoPro’s first mirrorless camera. It has an M4/3 mount, which enables the camera to be compatible with hundreds of different lenses, ranging from ultra-wide-angle to telephoto, no longer being limited to a fixed wide-angle. This expands the possibilities significantly.
In terms of release date, the standard version and the Pro version will be available for reservation on May 21st and go on sale on May 28th. The ILS version with interchangeable lenses will be released in the third quarter.

This time, GoPro has taken a significant step towards professional filmmaking with its action cameras. They are no longer just used for extreme sports; they can also be employed as small movie cameras.
In addition, GoPro has launched its first wireless microphone – the GoPro Wireless Mic Kit. This kit includes two transmitters, one receiver and a charging case.

In response to the launch of the Mission 1 series of action cameras by competing brands, Liu Jingkang, the founder of Xiamoi, boldly declared: “Make GoPro great again!”
