How Games Are Optimized for Different Mobile Operating Systems and How They Differ from Each Other

When you play mobile games on a variety of devices, you will notice that the performance can vary widely. While part of this could be due to the speed and power of the device that you use, it should also be remembered that games are often optimized in differing ways for Android and iOS markets.

    The Variety of Models

Do you prefer playing on an iPhone or an Android device? For many people, it simply comes down to their personal preference and the type of smartphone or tablet that they are used to having. However, there are a few other key points to take into account as well.

First of all, games are often optimized for iOS devices before they are available for Android. This is mainly because it is easier to optimize titles for the relatively small range of iPhones, compared to the many different Android models on the market. It is also more likely that plenty of Android users are running their devices on a variety of different versions of the software at any given time.

    The Different Gaming Experience

The most contentious issue when discussing the difference between these operating systems is the quality of the games. It is worth pointing out that Apple has made it clear that there is strict quality control in place on the App Store, while the Google Play Store has more poor quality games with very low ratings. Yet, not all games need an app.

For instance, many mobile users like to play games for real money, on a site such as the Genesis mobile online casino. In this case, the player can sign up by navigating to the site on their browser, where they find games such as slots, Teen Patti, and roulette. The experience is the same on any device, and the same mobile user bonuses can be claimed by any new player. In this sense, these sites can appeal to all audiences and not be concerned with hardware differences. It also helps that slots and other games have high definition graphics, are suited for mobile gaming.

A quality game from a reputable developer should be available for both formats, and you would expect it to be of a similar level of quality across all devices. Research has shown that IOS games tend to be smoother with fewer bugs, which probably is due to the points already mentioned; it is easier to optimize for iPhones and the App Store has a higher level of quality control.

Players on any type of device will find the top games, like Fortnite by Epic Games and Pokémon Go by the Pokémon Company. These hugely popular apps are on Android and iOS, with a similar high quality on all versions, so a look at the top mobile games of the year should reveal consistent performance across devices. It is once you dip into independent games that more differences are likely to show up.

A developer with limited resources could find that optimizing for Android devices is hard work, leading to them cutting some corners. This is less likely to occur when they are preparing the game for release on the App Store.

You will find many great games for any type of mobile device, but if you are searching for iOS titles then it should a little bit easier to avoid low-quality, disappointing games.
