It was not more than two months ago that the OnePlus 6 was presented and we are already receiving news of its renewal, the OnePlus 7. To this day few are the details that are known of said device. However, a recent report through the OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau, confirms the arrival of 5G technology to its 2019 smartphone, which is expected to be launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in the current year.
This technology would achieve download speeds of nothing more and nothing less than 10 Gbps, nothing to do with the current 75 Mbps of the 4G network installed in most countries.
5G technology, that great unknown that has not yet been implemented in virtually any country. There are many brands that are making efforts to implement both network and device, and now OnePlus announces its full compatibility with the next smartphone to present.
According to the head of the OnePlus company, Pete Lau, 2019 will be the year in which they will launch a smartphone with the aforementioned technology, becoming one of the first mobile phones to have 5G. What is not yet known today and has not yet been confirmed by the CEO himself is whether this new technology will come with the OnePlus 7 or the rumored OnePlus 6T, although looking at the history of the brand in terms of launches, most likely it is the OnePlus 6T, the updated version of the current OnePlus 6.
Regarding the advantages of this technology, and as we mentioned at the beginning of the article, it would achieve speeds even higher than those achieved through WiFi. Another advantage that is supposed to bring will be the improvement of autonomy due to the low latency of this type of networks compared to the previous 4G and 3G. For the moment we will have to wait to see their actual implementations on a smartphone, although surely the network speeds achieved by the OnePlus 7 will be much higher than those achieved with a 4G network.
