Chuwi is becoming more and more aware of us as it offers relatively well-equipped and solidly-built products at a reasonable price. Now, this Chinese company is working on an interesting convertible notebook called CoreBook. Chuwi CoreBook should be available for sale in April 2018 and the confident manufacturer builds it as a competitor to Apple’s iPad Pro or Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4, which is, of course, much more expensive products. If you are interested, you can support CoreBook on Indiegogo with $459. For this money, you get a tablet, a keyboard, and a stylus, so it’s really a really interesting offer. In this article, we will compare the features and specifications of Chuwi Corebook and Apple’s iPad Pro and Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4.

    Design

Chuwi corebook itself is made of aluminum and looks elegant and stylish, and it’s definitely worth a slim profile of 8.5mm. Complete tablet dimensions are 315 x 211 x 8.5 mm and weight stopped at 1046 grams. The display is protected by slightly curved glass, making it a nice 2.5D effect and its diagonal is 13.3 inches. The manufacturer used a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at a 16: 9 aspect ratio and the maximum display brightness can climb up to 350 threads. The display can handle up to 10 touchscreens and also supports stylus control, which should be included in the package,

while The aluminum 12.9-inch iPad Pro is almost ridiculously large, sporting a ginormous 12.9-inch display. Made of sturdy magnesium, the 12.3-inch Surface Pro 4 is big, too, but it’s more manageable because of its more compact footprint. Measuring 6.9mm thick for the 12.9-inch model, the iPad Pro is thinner and lighter than the Corebook and Surface Pro 4, but 8.5mm-thick Corebook and Surface Pro 4 benefits from a built-in kickstand. With the iPad, you need to attach a cover to prop it up, the iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch screen and the Surface Pro has a 12.3-inch one, Microsoft’s Surface features a 12.3-inch pixel sense display with a resolution of 2736 × 1824 (267 PPI). iPad’s 12.9-inch screen sports almost the same PPI at (264 PPI) with a resolution of 2732 x 2048.

    Hardware

While The Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) uses a dual-core Intel Core 7th-generation processor, either a 2.6GHz Core m3, 3.5GHz Core i5, or 4.0GHz Core i7, depending on cost. The only option for the Apple 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2017) is an Apple A10X Fusion processor that sports six cores: three 2.38 GHz ones for performance tasks, and three slower cores that draw less power when running non-demanding software. The Surface Pro can be configured with 4 GB, 8 GB, or 16 GB of RAM, while the sole option for the iPad Pro is 4 GB. Comparing amounts of RAM across operating systems isn’t simple, as Windows and its associated applications require more than iOS and its third-party software. For Windows, 4 GB of RAM is just enough, 8 GB is a generous amount, a 16 GB is a great whopping ton. By contrast, 4 GB is a more than generous amount of RAM for an iOS device. The base iPad Pro comes with 64 GB of storage, and people willing to pay more can upgrade to 256 GB or 512 GB. The base Surface Pro has 128 GB of storage, and that goes to 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB. Advantage Microsoft, though getting up to 1 TB costs close to $3000.

while The new iPad Pro is equipped with the same ultra-fast Touch ID that was introduced on the iPhone 6S, 4 speakers that offer a unique stereo audio sensation and the same camera as the iPhone 7 (not that you’ll be taking many photos with your iPad). On the other side of the table, A Surface Pro leans on its signature kickstand, with Window’s Hello facial recognition, a magnetic charger that disconnects with any strong force would have pulled it to the ground with its charger cable, the best in the business type cover with a multi-touch trackpad, LTE advanced and designer accessories like the Surface Dial. When it comes to Pens, both now are not included out of the box, as Microsoft used to include a Surface Pen with the Pro 4. After Microsoft’s Pen upgrade, both Pens seem to stand on the same ground, but because of iPad’s high refresh rate, latency stands at an all-time low of 20 ms making the Apple pencil the fastest digital pen in the world. However, we’re still in love with the Surface Pen’s programmable buttons, long battery life and eraser back.
