Xiaomi has a variety of routers that work very well. I know that since I have two of them, Xiaomi mini and the Xiaomi router 3 and I’m the only who translates the developers version of the Mi WiFi in English and Greek. The routers from Xiaomi are very good, work perfectly, they have a really strong WiFi signal and through the app, you can control them from any place on earth. Lately Xiaomi presented to us an upgraded version of the Xiaomi Router 3, the Xiaomi Router R3P.
The Mi R3P has all the good features of the version 3 plus it has gigabit LAN and not 100 that was happening usually. The Mi R3P features the latest 802.11a / b / g / n / ac WiFi standard, which is more reliable for streaming for your home computers and mobile devices. The router supports Dual Band, 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz networks, and the speed can reach up to 2600Mbps.
The Mi R3P features 4 external antennas for a much better WiFi signal. If you use the Mi WiFi App that I translate, you have full control of your Xiaomi router and network, with many features that the app gives. As a design, I have to admit that looks very strange the thick body. One could believe that this router features and some kind of HDD, but it doesn’t. So I really cannot understand why the are so thick.
From the USB portal you can add to it any HDD you like. The Mi R3P features also 2.5MM DC Jack, LAN, USB 3.0 and WAN. The LAN as we have mention they are of 1000Mbps, when till recently only in the version with the HDD we could find this kind of high LAN. The router runs WEP, WPA and WPA2-PSK as wireless security. It supports all kind of OS.
The distance that can reach the WiFi is relative but mostly is about 200 meters. Transmits at 100Hz – 16KHz frequency. The Menu in the router are in Chinese, so you will need Google chrome to see it in an other language and the translated app from me. The app can be found at en.miui forum. The router weights only 1.030 kg and comes with dimensions 19.00 x 13.00 x 6.50 cm.
