Steps to Create Your First Mobile App

If one of your passion projects for the future is creating your first mobile app, you will need to get started as soon as possible as there is plenty of work to get done before you can present your amazing app to the world. Depending on your designer and developer skills, learning how to make an app step by step might be overwhelming for you.

For those of you who are not that skilled in coding, you will be happy to hear there are many ways to create your own apps without any coding knowledge needed. From learning all the steps on your own to hiring a team of professionals, here are all of the possibilities when it comes to creating your first mobile app.

    1. Determine the idea and research the competitors.

Before we go into creating the app, you will need to determine what your app will be about, which problem it will solve, and who will be its target audience. The best way to decide all that will be to think about a problem you would like to solve for yourself by using an app. It doesn’t have to be an app like no other, it just needs to have something unique when compared to its competitors.

Then, you’ll need to decide on the app name and do proper research on all competitors who have developed an app that solves the same or similar problem. This will give you a better idea of what your app should offer to be valuable to its target audience.

Work on the app design and features.

After your research, you will probably have a lot of ideas you want to implement within your app. Make sure you write them all down before you forget them. Think about what features you want your app to offer, how the user interface and design will follow the app idea, and how many screens will it be necessary for users to get what they came for.

Here, you can use the findings from your competitor analysis when it comes to design and features. This might even inspire you to implement something completely new that will make your app stand out from all the competitors.

    Start building the app.

When building your app, you will be able to decide whether to do it on your own or to hire a team of professionals. Whichever of these two options you decide to go for, make sure you already have a clear idea of how you want your app to be. Do a mockup before you ask someone to build the app for you because that’s how they’ll be able to deliver exactly what you want. However, if you decide to do it on your own, having it all laid out will save you time while building your app, instead of doing the same process over and over again.

    Test, Test, Test.

Once your app is in the creating phase, you will need to test everything. From testing how it looks on each device, including different web browsers, Android and iOS devices, to mobile app security testing. After all, if your app is not secure, it will draw your potential users away. While you’re testing your app, it’s crucial you do it from the user’s perspective to find any gaps, confusion, or opportunities for improvement.

Most app owners will even create focus groups or share the app with their close ones to see how they feel when they are using the application. If you test it with others at such an early stage, you will still be able to implement all the changes without additional costs that often are not a part of the predetermined budget.

    Wrap Up

Such platforms might be incredibly helpful if you’re creating an app for the very first time, however, if your app will be a bit complex and require more sophisticated skills, you should consider hiring an Android or iOS app development company as they have a team of professionals who will provide you with design and development support for building the app you had in mind.
