Xiaomi Mipad3 May Use Intel Apollo Lake Chipset To Increase 30% Performance


Core M in the seventh generation Koby Lake plays the important role in the power consumption. It is said it will also use Intel M3, Intel M5, m7, TDP 4.5W. Meanwhile,  it will focus on 2-in-1 tablet pc. Intel has also released its new architecture such as Airmont Architecture, Cherry Trail, Braswell, etc. In Comptutex, Intel has announced Apollo Lake and Kaby Lake will come out soon which will replace Cherry Trail and Braswell accordingly.


Apollo Lake has 14 nm process, Goldmont architecture, designed for dual core and quad-core, 30% performance increase, and optimize the power consumption (6 w ~ 10 w) makes the battery life increase 15%.
GPU has evolved to  ninth generation architecture, with the same level as Intel Skylake Six generation.

Intel claims Apollo Lake supports dual Wifi, eMMC flash storage, DDR3L/LPDDR3/LPDDR4 and other types of storage. This year they will also increase USB3.0 Type C port, providing 100W power and 10Gbps transmission.


GPU nuclear also evolve to the ninth generation architecture, namely and desktop six generations of core Skylake is the same.


Intel said the Apollo Lake support dual-band wi-fi, eMMC flash, DDR3L/LPDDR3 / LPDDR4 etc. Various types of memory, this year will also add USB 3.0 Type – C interface support, with 100 w power and 10 GBPS transmission. Menawhile, Intel has also privdied BOM solution for its manufacturer. Apollo Lake will be used the following devices, such as all-in-one device, NUC, PC, Chromebook, Tablet, 2-in-1 Devices.


We know Xiaomi miPad 2 has used Cherry Trail Atom X5-Z8500 processor, Surface 3 with Atom X7 Z8700 processor, if they are upgraded, Xiaomi Mipad 3 will use the Apollo Lake processor. So what do you expect Xiaomi Mipad 3?
