HarmonyOS is Expected to be Released on a Large Scale in June

The Huawei HarmonyOS system is a domestic operating system that was unveiled at Huawei’s Developer Conference on September 10, 2020. It connects mobile phones, tablets, TVs, computers, smart wearables, etc. to form a unified operating system. Among them, the closest thing to us is the mobile phone!

In fact, HarmonyOS has already started small-scale testing. You can try to apply if you have a model that meets the application requirements!

Let’s take a look at the past and present of Huawei HarmonyOS:

September 10, 2020:

  • Huawei Hongmeng system is upgraded to version 2.0, namely HarmonyOS 2.0, and is open source for 128KB-128MB terminal equipment.

December 16, 2020:

  • Huawei officially released the developer Beta version of HarmonyOS 2.0.

February 22, 2021:

  • Huawei announced that HarmonyOS will be launched in April, and Huawei Mate X2 will be upgraded in the first batch.

April 7, 2021:

Hongmeng Developer Day was held in Shanghai.

April 27, 2021

  • HarmonyOS began to open the public beta version to small-scale upgrades for ordinary users.

May 18, 2021 (not started)

  • Huawei will host the “HarmonyOS connect Partner Summit” in Shanghai

Huawei’s HarmonyOS has been controversial since its birth. From the initial PPT system to the later shelled Android, Huawei has never responded to various criticisms but insisted on following its own plan step by step. After all, this The significance and value of the existence of the system may exceed the system itself! It can be said that Huawei is constantly working hard from 0 to 1 for the domestic operating system. We may not be able to do anything. The only thing we can do is to stop blowing it up!

According to the news from digital bloggers close to Huawei, HarmonyOS is expected to be postponed until June to start the first large-scale push update. HarmonyOS official Weibo has also been successfully certified at the end of April. Mate X2, Mate40 series, and P40 series are the first upgraded models, but the implication is that it may be later!

Although we have not waited for the large-scale OTA update, the experience of the HarmonyOS small-scale test has been released!

HarmonyOS has significantly improved system fluency! In fact, I originally thought that as long as it was not worse than the previous system, it would be a success. As a result, I did not expect that HarmonyOS would have an advantage in terms of fluency: the experience is smoother and the feel is very obvious! But there are rare occasions when there will be a momentary freeze, it should be a small bug or there still exists!

There are a lot of comments on the Internet that HarmonyOS shells Android. In my opinion, this kind of argument is really meaningless! Whether an operating system can succeed, technology is only one aspect, and the decisive factor is the construction of the ecosystem! Therefore, HarmonyOS retains or is compatible with the Android ecosystem in the early stage. It is an inevitable choice or even a very helpless choice. Think about it from another angle. If Harmony OS is really an Android case, maybe Google will stand up long ago!

The most difficult thing for Huawei is the ecology, and the ecology is obviously impossible to rely on Huawei alone! Creating a mobile phone ecosystem requires tens of thousands of APP development technicians to participate in the development of software, and iteratively update! The chance of a mobile phone system without ecology is almost zero! Both Microsoft and Samsung have developed mobile phone systems, but they all failed in the end. The essence is still an ecological problem. Because there are not many developer apps on it, it is inconvenient for users to use them, so naturally, they won’t buy them!

Therefore, no matter when HarmonyOS starts to push to ordinary users, whether this system is successful, Huawei may be the one to take the lead, but the support of countless people is still needed in the future!
