Lin Bin Exposed Xiaomi Mi 9, 48 MegaPixel Cameras, Released in January Next Year

Xiaomi President Lin Bin exposed a new 48-megapixel camera on Weibo, and the rear camera looks more conspicuous. However, it is not clear whether it is a rear dual or a three-shot lens.

Xiao Bin, president of Xiaomi, said that the new Xiaomi Mi 9 has been in trial for a few weeks and will be released in January 2019.

According to the release time, this may be Xiaomi Mi 9 or Xiaomi Mi LEX and may be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.

In July of this year, Sony released the new CMOS IMX 586, with a pixel count of 48MP, a pixel size down to 0.8µm, and a 1/2-inch sensor.

Sony said that this CMOS is the first to achieve a minimum pixel size of 0.8µm in the world. In addition, the CMOS IMX586 can shoot 4K/90fps, 1080p/240fps, and 720p/480fps.

The new sensor uses a Quad Bayer color filter array with adjacent 2 x 2 pixels in the same color for high-sensitivity shooting. When shooting in dim light, the signals from four adjacent pixels are combined to increase the sensitivity to a level equivalent to 1.6 µm pixels (12 megapixels), resulting in a bright, low-noise image.Stay tuned for more news about Xiaomi mi9.
