Meizu Pro 6 Plus Exynos 8890 VS Oneplus 3T Snapdragon 821 VS Huawei Mate 9 Kirin 960 Review

Meizu has new products released every month, but there is no one like Meizu Pro 6 Plus to make Meizu stand out. Because Meizu Pro 6 Plus is powered by Samsung Exynos 8890 processor, its performance is better than other Helio smartphones. And for Huawei fans, Huawei Mate 9 released last month is also the first Kirin 960 smartphone. In Android market, Exynos 8890 and Kirin 960 are limited used in some phones, after all most smartphones are powered by Snapdragon processor. This half year, most phone uses Snapdragon 821 processor such as Oneplus 3t. Therefore, which one is the best in terms of processor, Meizu Pro 6 Plus Exynos 8890,  Oneplus 3T Snapdragon 821, or Huawei Mate 9 Kirin 960?

    Specs

Meizu Pro 6 Plus, Oneplus 3T and Huawei Mate 9 are considered as the top level, but compared them, they have difference in its software and hardware.

    Meizu Pro 6 Plus specs:

    • 5.7 inch 2K screen
    • 4GB LPDDR4 RAM+64GB UFS2.0 ROM
    • Exynos 8890@2.0GHz+1.5GHz
    • Flyme 5.2.7.0A based on Android 6.0.1

    Oneplus 3T Specs
    5.5 inch 1080P screen
    6GB LPDDR4 RAM+128GB UFS2.0 ROM
    Snapdragon 821@2.35GHz
Hydrogen OS V2.5.1 based on Android 6.0.1

    dsc09080_%e5%89%af%e6%9c%ac

    Huawei Mate 9 Specs:
    5.9inch 1080P screen
    4GB LPDDR4 RAM
    Kirin 960@2.4GHz
EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0

According to overall specs, Meizu Pro 6 Plus has highest screen resolution, Oneplus 3T has biggest RAM, Huawei Mate 9 has the latest OS. These factors may affect the final scores in performance. So we test Meizu Pro 6 Plus RAM 4GB version 2.3GHz.

    Daily use

This three smartphones run OS very smoothly, which all belong to the same level, very difficult to tell. For example, compared with their fingerprint scanner, Oneplus 3T has fastest speed, Meizu Pro 6 Plus is slowest, but both has less 0.3 seconds gap, so it’s really to recognize the gap. They all have faster camera launching, the gap is less than 0.1 seconds, we almost can’t feel the gap. They all can meet the daily use.

As for playing games, all have installed the hot games such as Onmyoji and Real Racing 3, we hope we can test the performance gap according to this two games. After playing them, we think it’s in vain, they all run two games very smoothly without losing frame, the real running effect is almost same.

If we really want to know which one wins, Huawei Mate 9 loads the game of real racing 3 at the fastest speed, Oneplus 3t second, and then Meizu Pro 6 Plus is slowest to load. But Huawei Mate 9 is less than 3 seconds faster than Meizu Pro 6 Plus. And the reason that appeared is that Meizu has bigger data, 1831MB, two 1080p screen phones have 1570MB data, which is not related a lot to the performance of the smartphone.

Although in the normal scene, three smartphones have no big difference, we still want to know the gap of them. So we will test them by performance software. Before testing the performance, three smartphones background have been cleared up once.

According to Qualcomm, compared with Snapdragon 820 processor, Snapdragon 821 CPU big core 2.1GHz has been improved to 2.4GHz,Snapdragon 821 CPU is made by 14nm architecture. four core Kryo architecture. two 2.4GHz frequency. The other two has 2GHz frequency. But no big change in architecture, Snapdragon 821 performance has improved 10%.

Exynos 8890 CPU is made by 14nm architecture, CPU is composed of four mongoose core and four core Cortex A53, compared with Kirin 950 processor, Kirin 960 first uses ARM architecture, which has played important role in performance improvement or test score.

Snapdragon 821 and Exynos both use its own architecture, but Kirin 960 processor uses ARM latest architecture.

In Geekbench 4, according to three tests, Huawei Mate 9 single core got the highest 1940 points, multi core got 5800 points. Oneplus 3T got 1852 points single core, 4363 points in multi-core, Meizu Pro 6 Plus got 1466 points single core, multi core 4267 points.

But Meizu Pro 6 Plus in the second test, Geekbench 4 has notified mistake, so there should be Bug in the score. After all, Meizu Pro 6 Plus score is not better than Exynos 7420 last generation, which makes no sense in theory.

They have large gap in GPU.

Snapdragon 821 GPU is Adreno 530@650MHz, Exynos 8890 GPU is Mali-T880 MP12, Kirin 960 GPU uses Mali-G71 MP8, they have their own advantages. So what’s the real performance?

    gb-1_2

In Sling Shot Extreme of 3DMark, Oneplus 3T has 2800 highest scores, Huawei Mate 9 got 2284 points, Meizu Pro 6 Plus got 1992 points.

    antutu-1

In antutu test, Oneplus 3T got the highest score,Huawei Mate 9 is lower than Meizu Pro 6 Plus. According to several test, three smartphone power and heat are in nice state without overheating situation.
According to these test, Kirin 960 with Octa core Cortex-A73 architecture is really powerful,  especially the multi-core is obviously higher than Snapdragon 821, and its GPU, Mali-G71 MP8 also performs excellently.

The Snapdragon 821 processor has overall outstanding performance, the GPU is still excellent. On the contrary, Exynos 8890 of Meizu Pro 6 Plus performance makes us a little disappoint. According to Geekbench, Exynos 8890 of Galaxy S7 shows 2294 points single core, which is second to Apple A series processor, and its multi score has got 6908 points, which belongs to top level. So the points of Meizu Pro 6 Plus is lower. The problem has many reasons, one is that Meizu Pro 6 Plus is not compatible with Geekbench well, the second is that Meizu Pro 6 Plus  Exynos 8890 frequency is in mystery, Geekbench shows 1.48GHz, but Antutu shows 1976Mhz. which will affect the performance score.

    Conclusion

The three smartphones have their own advantages in their processor, in terms of Antutu score, Oneplus 3T is the best, Huawei Mate 9 is second, then Meizu Pro 6 Plus is the lowest,  according to Geekbench, Huawei Mate 9 is highest, then Oneplus 3t and Meizu Pro 6 Plus ranks the last. Those tests above can be considered as part of performance, anyway, you can take it for reference.
