Xiaomi is preparing to renew its range of phones with Android One. The Chinese brand will launch two models in this new range, which are the Xiaomi Mi A2 (4+32GB) and the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. It represents a remarkable advance compared to the first generation last year. There is a lot of hype after the success that it has had on the market, it is not a surprise that the firm launches new models. Today, we are going to compare them. In this way, we can see what are the differences between these two models of the Chinese brand. And if you are thinking of buying one of these phones with Android One, you can choose the one that best suits you.

    Design

The first difference between the two models lies in the size. Since the Xiaomi Mi A2 is larger than the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, a difference not too big in size, but enough to be important. In this sense, it depends on personal preferences to choose one or the other depending on the size of the screen and we have the same screen resolution in both. The main difference is in the notch, which is present in the Mi A2 Lite. In terms of design, the differences between the two phones are non-existent. Both opt for a screen with thin frames, and in the back we have a double camera arranged vertically, in addition to a fingerprint sensor. A quite common design in this regard for the Chinese brand.

    Hardware

    Xiaomi Mi A2

The main disagreement between the two phones of the Chinese brand resides in their internal specifications. Because they use different processors, and we have different combinations of RAM and internal storage. It is a point of importance when it comes to selecting the one that best fits what you are looking for. In the case of the Xiaomi Mi A2, we have a Snapdragon 660 processor, which represents a significant jump compared to the processor of last year’s model. More powerful and faster, which translates into a much more fluid operation for the phone. We will have a single 4 GB RAM option, it seems. It was commented that there would be another with 6 GB, but it seems that there will only be one (at least for now). What we will have will be two combinations of internal storage of 32 and 64 GB.

    Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite

On the other hand, we have the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, which will use a Snapdragon 625 processor, a less powerful model in the middle range of Qualcomm. In this case, we have two options to choose from in RAM and internal storage, being 3/32 GB and 4/64 GB. So the user can choose the model that suits you in this case.

    Camera

    Xiaomi Mi A2

The cameras were one of the strengths of last year’s model. Something that seems will be maintained in the models this year. Since both have a double rear camera, which undoubtedly promises to be very useful to take some high-quality images. Although there are differences between the two phones in this regard. The Xiaomi Mi A2 is the most powerful in this regard, with a double rear camera of 20 + 12 MP. We also have an LED flash in it. Without a doubt, a good option to take great photos. The front camera of the device is a single lens, 20 MP. So a powerful camera to take selfies.

    Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite

The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite also has a double camera in the back. In your case, it is a 12 + 5 MP . Similar to last year’s phone, although this is something simpler. But a good option for taking photos. The front camera is 5 MP in this model. It has more similarities with last year’s model than the Mi A2.

    Battery

    Xiaomi Mi A2

A key point in these phones is the battery. The Xiaomi Mi A2 has surprised and not for good with its battery. It is a slightly smaller battery than last year’s model. It has a capacity of 3,010 mAh, which is not bad, but it could be better. Although we have a fast charge, which is sure to be of enormous help on more than one occasion.

    Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite

The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite surprises for good with its large battery. The mid-range smartphone “with lowering of features” is committed to a battery of 4,000 mAh capacity, which will undoubtedly give a great autonomy to users. Ideal if you have to use the phone a lot throughout the day.

    Conclusion

If we focus on the specifications, we can see that the Xiaomi Mi A2 (4+32GB) is clearly a superior model to the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. This first model supposes a great jump in quality with respect to the telephone of the past year. Changes in the design, and changes also in terms of their specifications, for the better. So it is a much more complete option and it will give a great performance.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is a model more similar to the Xiaomi Mi A1 from last year. Not so much in the design, but we can see it in its specifications. It does not suppose a jump of quality so brutal as the one of the previous model, but it is a good option for which they want Android One but in a model something simpler. And it is expected to be much cheaper. What is clear is that both will sell very well, both by design and by its Android One operating system. We hope that this comparison will be helpful to know more about these two phones from the Chinese manufacturer and so you can choose the one that best suits you and your budget.
